Auto Insurance
In Ohio, it is mandatory for all car owners to carry at least state minimum liability limits.
Liability
This coverage is mandatory. If you are at fault, it will help cover the cost of bodily injuries and property damage to other parties involved in the accident up to the policy limits.
Medical payments
This coverage is optional. Medical payments coverage helps pay for medical and funeral expenses after a car accident up to the policy limits. It typically covers policyholders and any passengers. This coverage applies regardless of who’s at fault.
Physical Damage to your vehicle
These coverages are optional. If there is a lien on your vehicle, it may be required.
Comprehensive: Covers damage to your vehicle from causes other than collision. Comprehensive will cover your vehicle if you have a run-in with an animal, cracked or broken glass, hail damage, tree falls on your car, and theft.
Collision: Covers damage to your vehicle from a collision. This coverage will cover your vehicle if you are in an accident with another vehicle or hit a fixed object.
Deductible: A deductible will apply to both comprehensive and collision. This is an amount you pay out of pocket before the insurance starts paying.
